Drop Ship Orders
Handling drop ship orders is always a challenge. Your vendor takes an order from you, ships to your customer, and then bills you. How do you know when the product is delivered? When do you bill the customer? How can you bill earlier?
MS Dynamics SOP module has features that support drop ship orders along with the POP module.
An order can be entered in SOP with lines marked as drop shipped. Then, from this order, drop ship POs can be created automatically, instructing your vendor to ship to your customer. There is also an alternative method to process drop ships that allows you to invoice your customer when you are told by the vendor that the products are shipped, before you receive the vendor's invoice even.
